SEND Friends

This group is made up of parents of children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability). The SEND Friend group see parents of SEND children as ‘experts through experience’. They know how important it is to have a chance to meet up, share ideas, gain information and get support.

In 2025 they have been supporting each other through Action Research, sharing stories and creating action plans to help each other navigate complicated school and SEND services systems.

Do come along to our group sessions which happen every Tuesday Morning from 10am to 12pm – just drop in - all SEND parents are welcome

We are also looking for parents of SEND children to join us as volunteers.

Islington People’s Rights have an excellent new service, IPR KidsSupport, which helps parents of children with disabilities or long term health conditions to access their full entitlement of benefits.
