Free workshop for Islington parents: Talking to children about AI
Children and young people who use mobile phones and computers have access to AI.
AI can do interesting, clever and fun things. Lots of children will want to play with it. Some of what children learn whilst using AI will be good for their development. However, there are also lots of unknown dangers that children may come across too.
This workshop was asked for by Islington parents after they found that a group of primary aged children had shared images on an AI site and that those images were transformed by AI. The children also trusted an online group on which they didn’t know all members. None of the children were hurt but the parents were worried.
Parents wanted to protect their children from dangerous activities and people. They also wanted to have conversations about AI and online groups without scaring children.
These conversations are hard. Mitchelle Greenaway is leading a workshop that will help you to think about and plan these conversations.
