The Parent House is Now a CIO

Exciting News: The Parent House is Now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

We’re delighted to share some important news—The Parent House has officially changed its charitable status and is now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered with the Charity Commission. Our new Registered Charity Number is 1211455

This change is an exciting step forward for our charity. Now that we are a CIO, our trustees are protected from personal financial responsibility, giving them peace of mind when making decisions to support our work. This protection will also make it easier for members of our local community to join our board, helping us welcome fresh perspectives. This will further improve diversity among our talented group of trustees.

We want to give a special thank you to our Vice Chair, Barbara Ford, who has led this complex and important project with skill and dedication. The pro bono work she arranged for us with DLA Piper LLP and Charles Russell Speechlys LLP was essential to the process, as was her own legal expertise. Barbara’s leadership has made this smooth transition possible, strengthening the foundation of our organisation for years to come.

This change is all about creating a stronger, more inclusive Parent House—one that continues to support parents and families across our community with confidence and care. We’re excited about the future and grateful to everyone who helps make our work possible.
